Due to incidents of power banks emitting smoke or catching fire on aircraft both in Japan and overseas, new handling measures have been introduced to further enhance cabin safety by enabling early detection and response. Starting July 8, passengers are requested not to store power banks in overhead compartments, but instead to keep them in a location where their condition can be monitored at all times during the flight We kindly ask for your understanding and cooperation.
From July 8, 2025, the following two new items have been added to the list of requested cooperation.- Do not store power banks in the overhead compartments above your seat.
- When using a power bank to charge portable electronic devices, or when charging a power bank using the in-seat power outlet, please ensure that the power bank remains visible at all times.
