Based on the current situation of novel coronavirus infections in Shiga prefecture, the level of caution has been raised from stage 2 to stage 3 among the 4 levels of caution.
We ask for your cooperation in preventing the spread of infection as follows.

1 Take thorough infection prevention measures

  • Ensure basic prevention measures.
  • (Wash hands, wear masks, avoid the 3 C’s.)
  • Practice coughing etiquette, frequent ventilation and humidification, disinfect shared surfaces such as doorknobs in the household also.
  • Be cautious of the “Five situations” that increase the risk of infection when coming in contact with members other than family (meal settings, common living space such as dormitories, social areas used as rest space/rooms etc.)
  • In particular, avoid sharing glasses and utensils, and wear a mask during conversations even in meal settings.
  • Be even more cautious when travelling in regions where a high number of infections have been identified.
  • Stay home to recover when you have symptoms such as a fever.
  • Continue basic prevention measures after being vaccinated.
  • Make use of COVID-19 infection prevention apps such as “Moshi-sapo Shiga” and Contact Confirming App, “COCOA”.

2 Outings

  • Please avoid non-essential non-urgent travel between prefectures.

3 Travelling to visit family・Vacations

  • Choose “not to go” “not to invite” “to postpone” this summer.
  • Remind families who are thinking of visiting home of the current measures. 

4 Meals・Karaoke

  • Whenever dining, eat at home or a COVID-safe certified restaurant with members you usually spend time with.
  • Avoid meals and karaoke in state-of-emergency regions and other regions where priority measures are being implemented.
  • Ensure thorough prevention measures such as wearing masks during karaoke.

5 Other

  • Parking lots at parks along Lake Biwa are closed (August 7 – August 31)
  • “Now’s the time to travel Shiga” campaign → new sales temporarily suspended
  • Bicycle rental subsidy program → new applications temporarily suspended
  • Go to Eat → issue of new vouchers temporarily suspended, please avoid use of meal vouchers that have already been purchased.

  2. Meals in large groups or meal settings for a long duration of time

  4. Sharing group living space in a small area
  5. Switching locations such as from work area to rest area
