Shiga is implementing a project to cover part of the costs associated with accommodations in cases where someone spends the night outside their home to avoid spreading the virus at home or at work.
6,000 yen (effective discount of 5,000 yen) off stays of over 7,000 yen/night
3,000 yen (effective discount of 2,000 yen) off stays between 4,000 yen and 7,000 yen/night
Note: Coupons (worth 1,000 yen each) must be purchased in advance at convenience stores (7-Eleven, Lawson, Ministop).
■ Eligibility
◇ You must meet all of the following criteria:
- Live in Shiga, or work or study in Shiga
- Not be positive for COVID-19 or be a close contact
- Want to temporarily stay at accommodations within Shiga to avoid spreading the virus at home or at work
◇Examples of Possible Users
- Essential workers, or people who live with the elderly or with a student taking university entrance exams, who think they are at a higher risk of being infected by going out to work, and who therefore want to stay at a hotel and go to work from there
- Students taking university entrance exams who want to isolate themselves just in case
- People whose workplace is close to a hotel they want to use to avoid infection

- Buy coupons by entering the issuing number, 0259278, in the machine at 7 Eleven (Multicopy), or Lawson or Ministop (Loppi).
- Reserve a stay at a participating accommodation through the designated method.
- Give the coupons during check-in.
- Present the Confirmation and Consent Form saying that you have no symptoms and have done nothing that would lead you to being infected with COVID-19 at time of check-in.
