Shiga prefecture has decided to provide support to students who are having trouble with daily life due to a decrease in income at their part-time job. Omi rice and other groceries will be supplied for free to students/international students who require them.

1. Support for students/international students living alone and studying in Shiga

1)Eligibility

 Students/international students enrolled in a university, college, technical college, specialized training school within the prefecture, living alone and having trouble with daily life.

2)Number of people (expected numbers)

 2,000 people

3)What you can receive

 (1)Omi rice「Mizukagami」(2kgs)、(2)cereal, canned foods, drinks, etc.

4)Application

  • Apply at your university/education facility of enrollment if you wish to receive the goods.
  • You will be required to fill out a survey at time of application.
  • ※Method and duration of application differ among universities. Please inquire at your school for details.

2. Support for students born in Shiga who are living alone outside the prefecture

1)Eligibility

 Students born in Shiga, enrolled in university or other education facility outside the prefecture, living alone and having trouble with daily life.

2)Number of people (expected)

 2,000 people

 Omi rice「Mizukagami」(2kgs)

Goods will be delivered through home delivery to students.

Support is through cooperation of companies that have offered groceries for free and Shiga Trucking Association that will deliver the goods.
